Nositeľ ceny Friedricha Glausera má na konte množstvo úspešných titulov, ktoré boli medzičasom preložené do dvadsiatich piatich jazykov a stali sa predlohou medzinárodných filmových aj divadelných spracovaní. Sebastian Fitzek vyštudoval právo a po promócii pracoval ako redaktor v rádiu a v televízií. Sám sa priznáva, že je „workoholik“ a veľmi komunikatívny človek. Rád chodí na čítačky a neustále je online. S rodinou žije v Berlíne.
